I Was Born to Create Value Through Art.
As a kid, I remember being obsessed with design, doodling on everything in sight. Everyone told me, “You can’t make money creating.” It burned me up at the time, but now I’m glad for the frustration.
I Accepted the Challenge.
Since I couldn’t shake my addiction to creating, I became a professional woodworker. I learned how to manipulate materials and make things that people need.
I busted my butt to find clients, provide excellent service, and produce fine craftsmanship. From all that work grew a long list of happy customers, repeat projects, and enthusiastic referrals.
Lo and behold, I made money creating. I developed strong relationships with a couple of art brokerage firms, and grew a specialty of commissions for large corporate clients.
Absent Art is My Quest Fulfilled.
The frustration I felt as a kid drove me to develop myself as an artist and businessman. The journey here fed my soul.
The Biggest Compliment
I live for my clients’ reactions when they see their custom piece completed. There is no higher praise than that breathless, “Wow!”
Some of my favorite Absent Art moments were designing two pieces for the Charles Schwab headquarters in San Francisco (link/embed a photo), and creating the award sculptures for the 2016 Outlaw film festival. One of the winners was Jane Lynch from Glee. I can’t believe that she owns one of my pieces. I hope she puts it next to her Emmys.

Don’t you love it when you walk into a space with a wow-factor centerpiece? Everything in the room feels more alive. It’s amazing.
If your space needs emotional punch, let’s connect. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together.
